iDon't Buy Gas is a non-profit consumer support group hoping to relieve the intense strain the ever-increasing gas prices have put on our everyday lives.

Some families today are having to make the decision whether they should buy gas or food. Out of respect for our fellow mankind we should never have to be forced to make that decision while oil companies turn out record profits year after year.

On August 15th, 2008 our supporters will take a stand by not buying gas.

If our message is not accepted we will collectively continue to find ways to live without gas and continue to make these stands on a scheduled basis.

You will find helpful tips and alternatives to help you make it through the entire two week period without spending a dime on gas.

In addition to our mass organized boycotting efforts we are also in development of alternative methods of transportation starting with an all electric/solar powered car. Details and updates on our new developments are available in the forum. Our goal is to develop a car that is capable of functioning without the use of fossil fuels or bio-fuel power with it's maintenance cost to be less than $0.05 USD per mile. In the US, production cars today cost approximately $0.18-$0.36 per mile.

We know the impact on our actions are small compared to the industry we are going up against but with your support we will be able to press forward with the development of new technologies that will relieve us from our dependency on major corporations.

By not buying gas on August 15th, 2008 we will show all major corporations, regardless of what they sell, that we, the people, have the power to change our lifestyles and their products are a luxury not a need.

We hope to continue this on a monthly basis while we work our way to being completely free of our dependency on gasoline. We will continue to help the public adjust to the changes easily by continuing to maintain this support group.
